The VSC of TCID is holding various ongoing donation drives for our patients. You can donate clothes personally, or you can host a drive for these items within your organization or community and have those items dropped off at TCID or have a Community Relations member pick them up.

TCID is an inpatient facility where patients can stay from six months to two years while completing treatment. Drives such as these provide patients with items to make their stay more comfortable.

We offer donation drop off or pickup (within 35 miles of TCID. 2303 SE Military Dr., San Antonio, TX 78223)
Sign up or reach out to TCIDCommunityRelations@dshs.texas.gov for more information! We will provide flyers for your drive!

About Volunteer Services Council for Texas Center for Infectious Disease

Location:

2303 SE Military Drive, San Antonio, TX 78223, US

Mission Statement

The Texas Center for Infectious Disease will medically, behaviorally, and socially treat tuberculosis and Hansen's disease patients and advance the nation's prevention and treatment of infectious disease through person-centered care, collaboration, research, and education.

Description

Volunteer programs have been an important part of the Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) since 1953, when the San Antonio State Tuberculosis Hospital was established. Volunteers are involved in providing opportunities and activities for the patients, assisting staff with ongoing service projects, fundraising initiatives, and more

The Volunteer Service Council provides services through the generosity of community agencies, civil organizations, private donors and grants while working within authorities granted by DSHS and state law. All opportunities offered by TCID that involve patients are with noninfectious patients. Infection control is our top priority and assure safety to all of our visitors.
