Hygiene Bank

Do you have a car or valid driver's license? We are looking for volunteers to help drop off hygiene kit deliveries to our local Nonprofit Receiving Sites!

Simply the Basics hygiene bank assembles hygiene kits on Wednesday evenings and distributes them later in the week to our local Receiving Site organizations that support children, families, and adults who are either experiencing homelessness or living with limited income (libraries, schools, and nonprofits).

Help us distribute these essential hygiene supplies by volunteering and delivering hygiene kits!

Flexible Schedule
-Volunteers will pick up supplies on the scheduled Wednesday evening between 5:30-6pm near Franklin/Geary.
-Drop off of the hygiene kits can happen either the next day or later in the week! Drop offs at the local organization will be pre-scheduled based on your availability and the need of the community.

We hope for each driver to be available for at least 1-2 deliveries a month to help with consistency in our programs.

Considerations: Must have own car and valid drivers license. Kits may be aprox. 2-5 boxes. Volunteer should be able to lift approximately 20-30 lbs.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Simply the Basics is to provide for individuals, organizations, and communities their most basic needs with dignity so that they can focus on bigger goals. We simply remove barriers, allowing people to have the opportunity to achieve.

Simply the Basics is inspired by Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, the philosophy that people are unable to focus on any needs higher than their current level on the following pyramid. If they are unable to meet needs at the very basic level (food, shelter, clothing, education, and hygiene), they will be incapable of moving up in the pyramid to reach greater goals (job security, sobriety, mental and physical health, and self actualization).

By alleviating the struggle to meet a most basic need, a person can achieve independence in other areas. By removing the barrier of finding the next meal or safe place to sleep, securing hygiene products, and meeting any other basic human needs...People are given the Opportunity to Achieve.
