We are Mentor's R Us Inc., a dedicated organization committed to empowering individuals to inspire and model sustainable life skills through the engagement in hands on experiences. We are currently seeking talented and motivated individual to join us.

We are excited to offer volunteer positions for an Artist/Painter to renovate our premises, making accommodations for life skill courses, intake appointments and affordable housing for individuals who have been displaced due to inflation.

Artist/Painter’s Qualifications

  • Current student pursuing any degree in arts or in-depth painting training
  • Must have experience and be a professional architect painter
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Integrity, honesty, openness and a willingness to operate as a team player

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of a fun paint party that revamps our building's look, uniting the community in a colorful makeover.
  • Painters will be working to paint the entire building to make it look professional and elegant
  • Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc
  • Interprets instructions to complete repairs according to work orders
  • Select paint according to company requirements, and match colors of paint following specified color charts
  • Mix paints to match color specifications then stir and thin the paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment
  • Take ownership of the project and manage independently
  • Efficiently oversee your tasks and collaborate with your supervisor
  • Complete your college essay or assignment as required by department if needed

Description

MRU acknowledges that Inspiration can unlock the keys to hidden potential in youth and adults. Our Programs match real world experiences with dreams that seem unattainable.

This program promises to improve relationships, self-esteem, social & life skills, emotional stability, morals, health and spiritual awareness. Mentor's and Mentees meet in teams for extra support. Activities are pre-arranged by topic to create the most beneficial environment for the youth and the Mentor.

MRU's Independent Living Program: Mentor's & Mentee's will share living quarters as MRU's philosophy expand to the home base. Mentee's will transition through the program in approximately three years until they gain their own independence into society.
