Together, we grant life-changing wishes to kids with critical illnesses.
Wish granter volunteers go in and interview the wish kids to determine their wishes, and then act as a liaison between the families and the Make-A-Wish staff to help make the wishes happen.
Many of the kids we work with are non-verbal and unable to vocalize their own wishes, nonetheless, these kids deserve to have their wishes granted, too. We are looking for volunteers who have experience with the non-verbal and/or autistic community, who can be specialists to work on these wishes. Non-verbal specialists would receive training to become wish granting volunteers for any child, whether verbal or non-verbal, as well as additional training to work with our non-verbal population.
Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area grants wishes throughout the Bay Area. For our volunteers in the San Francisco area, the more places you are able to go to grant wishes, the more opportunities you will have. In addition to San Francisco, you may be requested to nearby cities.
Diversity makes us stronger. Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is committed to diversity in its service and creating an inclusive work culture and environment that is reflective of the San Francisco Bay Area. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
