We need an engaged, caring, organized individual to help our outreach into the community to support Holocaust survivors in our community!
We are looking for a Volunteer Program Assistant who will support the Volunteer Manager in researching potnetial volunteers and community organizations to enhance the Holocaust Survivor Voluntee Program. This role focuses on identifying and engaging individuals and groups who are passionate about supporting Holocaust survivors.
Key responsibilities may include:
Research: Conduct research to identify potential volunteer candidates and community organizations who can support the program with volunteer engagement.
Networking: Support the volunteer manager in building relationships with community leaders and organizaations to fsoter collaboration and increase volunteer participation.
Communication: Help support the Volunteer Manager in gathering volunteer stories and create a volunteer newsletter or social media efforts to bring awareness to the volunteer program.
Qualifications: Have a passion for community service and support for Holocaust survivors. Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to engage others in the work of supporting Holocaust survivors.
Commitment: Must be able to give 3 - 4 hours per week (minimum). Ability to work remotely.

Selfhelp is A private, non-sectarian, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, Selfhelp was founded in 1936 by a small group of refugees fleeing persecution during the Holocaust. Our history is rich and varied because throughout it, we have continued to respond to anyone in need. Our mission has always been to help older adults live happy, independent lives in their own homes with services that help maintain their health and safety. Today, Selfhelp offers 20,000 aging, frail and "at-risk" New Yorkers a comprehensive network of social service, senior housing and home care services. It is also the oldest and largest provider of Nazi victim services in North America. For almost seven decades, Selfhelp has dedicated itself to being a source of information, service, community, and quality home care for New Yorkers.
