You'll lead the ASCENDtials editorial staff in the team's mission to enhance critical consciousness by offering intelligent, all-encompassing educational tools, materials, and training courses that are preventative, prepare, inculcate, and reinforce a greater sense of self and community, a Oneness that increases capacity, and environmental care.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a detail-oriented person who is able to work independently on a variety of responsibilities with both short-term and long-term deadlines. Tasks include leading publication processes, sharing insight on such matters, leading weekly team meetings, and tracking attendance and hours of team members. Additionally, you will attend strategy meetings and participate in evaluation of volunteers and interns. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with a variety of platforms and able to assemble and publish content. They should have strong writing skills in the event that content needs to be adjusted or updated. Also required: a love of learning and an eagerness to contribute to the team.
SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Leading the daily process of publishing new content - formatting posts, creating and/or adding images/charts/visuals/HTML tables, and getting to hit the publish button!
- Updating published content for accuracy, SEO, and reader experience
- Ensuring disclosures and compliance requirements are applied to new and existing content
- Leading with the development and maintenance of documentation for our team
- Fact checking and copyediting
- Working closely with the Copyediting team to improve your knowledge and skills through their feedback
- Growing and fostering the ASCENDtials brand as a top destination for personal growth and social change
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Experience working with the publication of online content in some capacity
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Successful experience working remotely in previous position(s)
- An ability to work and make decisions independently
- Relentless attention to detail, organization, and a strong ability to follow through on projects
- Experience working with Google Docs and Sheets
- Experience working within a CRM, (WordPress, etc.)
- Familiarity with Asana (or another project management system like Airtable or Trello)
- Basic familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style
- Basic knowledge of HTML and/or SEO are a plus

ASCENDtials assists those in the BIPOC community in dismantling institutionalized Isms within the U.S. workforce by offering workshops that empower them. Our non-profit organization focuses on building cosmic consciousness through our experiential learning programs, healing sessions, and workshops, and environmental programs so that they can successfully advocate for humanity and the environment.
