HOPEmatch - Marketing and Public Relations Chair
The HOPEmatch Marketing and Public Relations Chair position serves on the Board of Directors and is primarily responsible for the design and execution of all marketing and public relations efforts for HOPEmatch. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement a broad range of strategies and communications to increase HOPEmatch’s brand aware awareness. Through your efforts you will identify and establish strategic partnerships and drive increased new volunteer and donor participation by evangelizing the importance and impact of HOPEmatch to the communities we serve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Chair Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a public relations and marketing strategy that increases brand awareness, clarifies brand experience, and personalizes what HOPEmatch means to our donors, volunteers, and the families we serve
- Establish a predictable marketing calendar, with key events, to maximize HOPEmatch’s brand awareness while also avoiding the over saturation of content / messaging
- Provide leadership over the organization’s social media outlets and leverage best practices to help increase organizational awareness across an ever-growing network of volunteers, donors, and partners
- Identify and create strategic partnerships which help to achieve HOPEmatch’s mission while simultaneously adhering to the core values which make HOPEmatch unique
- Partner closely with Volunteer and Donor Engagement Chair to maximize donor participation and monetary contributions through consistent messaging and materials
- Alongside the Executive Director, serve as the organization’s spokesperson and brand ambassador - speaking at key engagements, events, or partnership opportunities as needed
- Responsible for brand consistency and helping to safeguard, and actively combat, against brand degradation
- Leverage HOPEmatch CRM platform to capture partnership opportunities
Board Responsibilities:
- Communicate frequently with Executive Director and Board of Directors - ensuring timely responses to key topics
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish strategic goals and initiatives, assist in creating and achieving agreed upon Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and supporting/enabling the operational activities of HOPEmatch
- At all times, serve as a HOPEmatch ambassador and evangelist - embodying the organizations core values and spreading the HOPEmatch 'word’ and mission to those in your personal and professional networks
Expectations and Commitments
- Give at least 8 hours a month in service to the board role
- Volunteer at least 1 yearly event and at least 8 hours specifically during the holiday program
- Concurrently serve on no more than 2 additional non-profit boards (in addition to HOPEmatch)
- Serve in your board role for the full 2-year term
- Attend at least 75% of board meetings (8) during fiscal year (ideally being in attendance for 100%)
- Attend yearly board retreat (historically near/during the month of July)
