Every Day Counts in the Life of a Child in Foster Care

About 5,000 children are in foster care in Oregon!

Do you want to help ensure that they live in safe, secure, healthy and permanent homes? Do you have one day per month to review the cases of children and families involved with the foster care system?

Apply to the Citizen Review Board (CRB), Oregon’s foster care review program! CRB Volunteer Board Members review the case plans of children and families involved in the child welfare system and hold reviews to determine if placements and services are appropriate. The CRB Volunteer Board Members make legal findings and recommendations that are filed with the Court. Training opportunities are scheduled throughout the year -- apply now if you are interested!

NOTE: CRB reviews in Clackamas County are currently conducted entirely by video meeting through computer and/or phone.

About Citizen Review Board

Location:

1163 State Street, Salem, OR 97301, US

Mission Statement

Citizens will shape public policy and actively promote conditions which ensure that every child lives in a safe, secure, healthy, and permanent home while preserving families whenever possible, and that youth offenders become successful and productive members of society.

Description

Our County's Foster Children Need Your Help

Children in foster care need help from their community to help ensure they have a safe permanent home as soon as possible. Citizen Review Board volunteers are court appointed, and usually meet one weekday per month to provide case review and oversight of children and youth in out of home placements (foster care). Volunteers work to promote conditions that ensure that every child lives in a safe, secure, healthy, permanent home, preserving families whenever possible and that youth offenders become successful and productive members of society. Volunteer to serve on the Citizen Review Board, a program of the Oregon Judicial Department, because Every Day Counts...in the life of a child in foster Care.
