We are looking for volunteers for our Chess Club!If you know how to play chess and are interested in volunteering, contact Laurie at the Shoreline Library - lfield@kcls.orgor 206.362.7550.
Description: Join our Chess Club to teach the basics to new players in a fun and casual environment! Our Chess Club meets one Wednesday per month from 3:00-4:30pm, and one Sunday per month from 1:00-3:00pm. Volunteers can choose Wednesdays, Sundays or both shifts.
Duties: Instruct new chess players on chess pieces and beginning moves. Play teaching games with new players. Play games with new and more advanced students when there are uneven numbers of players. Depending on the number of volunteer and new players, volunteers may instruct one student or several students at once. Our Chess Club is for ages 6 and older, tweens and teens. Volunteers should enjoy working with kids!
