ORGANIZATION: Elara Caring

Make a real difference in someone's life!

Elara Caring, one of the nation's largest providers of home-based care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.

Elara Caring Hospice is looking for Caring Companion Volunteers who will visit patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes. This volunteer will provide companionship, play cards/games, watch television, read books, play music, help the patient detail/write their life story, or writing letters to their loved ones. Volunteers will give the families a much-needed break to relax, run errands and ease the worry of their loved one being left alone.

Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings, or weekends are available. Typically, we ask that you visit your assigned patient 1-2 hours per week. For more information, contact Curvonna Harris at (248)794-2031 or email charris2@elara.com.
