Volunteer Tax Preparers are needed for VITA Tax Preparation sites throughout Polk County, FL.
Tax Preparers help low-to-moderate income taxpayers file accurate tax returns with no tax preparation fees. You will:
- meet with low-to-moderate income taxpayers
- review client tax documents to ensure they fit the scope of the VITA service
- complete tax return using TaxSlayer software
- submit return for review
Complete mandatory 8 hour training and commit to serve 1 day (5 hours) per week for 12 week tax season.

Leading Through Experience! You've gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through non-profit, faith-based, and governmental agencies to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental accident insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
