For over 40 years, the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic has been providing basically free, high quality healthcare to those most in need in Austin - those without insurance and without the financial means of obtaining medical services on their own. What is unique about our Clinic is that we are almost entirely volunteer driven, with services provided by over 400 dedicated volunteers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, interpreters, office support, etc.).
Over the last 40 years, we have collected quite a bit of memorabilia in the form of photos, articles, event information, and the like and we would like to have it chronicled in a scrapbook.
Our ideal volunteer is someone who loves to scrapbook and can sort through all the various material and put it in a book in a logical order and attractive manner. We have some basic materials available (12x12 pages, sheet protectors and glue) but if you have some supplies you could donate to this project, that would be great. This project was started and we now have quite a bit of the older material in the scrapbook. However, there is still a fair amount of recent material that needs to be worked into the scrapbook. We would also like to have someone who could help us keep it up going forward by doing new pages on a somewhat regular basis (as needed). This work could be done either here at the Clinic or at your home.

About Volunteer Healthcare Clinic
Location:
4215 Medical Parkway, Austin, TX 78756, US
Mission Statement
The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic provides free, high quality healthcare to some of Austin's most vulnerable residents.
Description
In 1966, a dedicated group quietly began finding healthcare for people who had no access to medical services. Many of Austin's working poor such as manual laborers must choose between food for their families and medical care. The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, formerly known as Caritas Clinic, provides high quality healthcare for this uninsured population. With a small staff, our clinic is operated almost entirely by volunteer doctors, nurses, interpreters and office aides. Our volunteers range from young adults to retired medical professionals sharing their time and talent with some of Austin's most vulnerable residents.
