Become a hospice volunteer at MD Choice Hospice. If you have as little as one hour a week, our program can give you a truly rewarding experience. The greatest gift you can offer is your time, your caring nature, and your willingness to listen. Volunteering can be as simple as sitting by the bedside, reading a book or running a quick errand for our patients and their family member. Training and ongoing support are provided to all volunteers, so experience is not required.

Being a hospice volunteer is a great opportunity to practice compassion and discover your skills and learn new ones during the end-of-life care. Volunteers are trained to enhance the overall goal of meeting the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of hospice patients and their families.

While volunteer cannot provide clinical or personal care, s/he can be a caring companion and compassionate listener to both patients and families.

• Provide in-person companionship to patients
• Engaging in art, music, and games with the patient
• Assisting with light tasks around the house
