Availability: looking for At least 2 to 6 volunteers to help with donation pick up and distribution Schedule:

• Tuesday and Sunday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Alpine and Knapps Corner Locations)
• Sunday: 10:00am -2:00pm (28th Street Locations)

Description:

Albatross Aviary is seeking dedicated volunteers to help us make a meaningful impact on both our feathered friends and the local community. We are looking for individuals who can pick up donations from Aldi grocery stores and Pet Supplies Plus or other pet supplies locations and assist with their distribution.

Responsibilities:

• Donation Pick-Up: Volunteers will visit designated stores (Alpine, Knapps Corner, and 28th Street locations) to collect food donations, usable pallets, recyclable papers for bird cages, buckets, plants, and other valuable items.
• Transportation: Ideal volunteers should have access to a truck or a larger vehicle to accommodate donations.
• Sorting and Storage: After collecting donations, volunteers will bring them to Albatross Aviary for sorting and storage. This will help us provide the best care for our birds and ensure we have essential supplies for their welfare.
• Community Support: Volunteers will assist in delivering items that Albatross Aviary cannot use to local food banks and food pantries. This effort will help us give back to the community and provide essential resources to those in need.

Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation (truck or larger vehicle preferred).
• A commitment to regular volunteer hours on specified days.
• Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items.
• Willingness to help with donation sorting and distribution.
• A passion for helping both birds and the local community.
