Volunteer for Builders of the New World (BNW), an award-winning after-school theater-arts education program that has helped thousands of children since 1995. Now in its 28th year, BNW teaches children an educational vision of opening up their imagination to look into the future and the tangible steps they must take to make that wonderful vision a reality.

Join us as a volunteer Mentor and Program Assistant in delivering this heartfelt program over the Holiday season and in our Spring 2024 program and be a part of this very meaningful revolutionary process. You will be given classes to train and interact with children using an innovative original creative technique founded by this theater.

BNW is an award-winning program that has been endorsed by successive mayors, from Mayors David Dinkins to Bill De Blasio, as well as the city council.

One of the most profound longings of individuals is to share the essence of themselves because when we do, we plant an eternalness on earth. Please come and participate in this glorious opportunity to teach and develop these young children.

The 2023 BNW Holiday program will be a one-day Creative Class and Holiday Celebration on Dec. 13th, 3:30-8:30PM where children and mentors will enjoy a festive family-style holiday meal together, participate in a creative class, and children will be given a brand new gift.

The 2024 BNW Spring program will include 10 weeks of life-changing creative classes where the children will develop an original drawing and monologue on an issue relevant today, have a family-style meal we will enjoy with mentors. The program will culminate in a final performance on for the community to cheer on the children’s work.

Spring mentors will participate in three creative training sessions with ATW’s Artistic Director and Founder, Thurman E. Scott. They will mentor the children in weekly Tuesday classes and rehearsals April 2nd, 2024 - June 13th, 2024.
