We need experienced volunteers with carpentry/handyman/hardscaping work to help upkeep fences and structures around the property. West Place Animal Sanctuary has a variety of farm animals which you will have the opportunity to work around, making this the perfect opportunity for animal lovers. Responsibilities include planning a project, creating a list of materials, and communicating with other handymen about how to get the project completed in a timely manner.

Mission Statement

West Place Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect, and cruelty and provides them with a permanent home and lifelong care. We rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife in Rhode Island and release healthy animals back into their natural habitats. We also operate the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. Through our humane education programs, West Place educates the public, offers hands-on educational experiences through our immersive student internships, and cultivates a more compassionate community.

Description

Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from cases of abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, and releases healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. It also serves as the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. West Place has a network of 75+ volunteers, who provide essential animal care 365 days a year, and the organization provides unique hands-on humane education experiences to students to cultivate a more compassionate community.
