Enrich a life with learning! Our adult tutoring program connects volunteers with adult students who want to improve their English reading and writing skills, get their GED, or attain citizenship. Training and curriculum are provided to all tutors before they are paired with a student.

Our 3-day tutor orientation workshop is offered once a month to help tutors learn about Literacy Green Bay's mission, our history, and the fundamentals of working with adult students. Get in touch to learn more today!

Mission Statement

The mission of Literacy Green Bay is to help adults and families acquire the reading, writing, math, English language, computer and workforce skills they need to be fully-functioning community members. We accomplish this through the efforts of volunteers, students, and staff, as well as appropriate resources, facilities and funding. We promote awareness of literacy in the community, and collaborate with other agencies and literacy providers to facilitate the effective delivery of services. Our vision is to build a community literate in the English language. https://youtu.be/xyNyuvyp8OE

Description

Literacy Green Bay offers English Language classes, Family Literacy Classes, and One-on-One Adult Tutoring. We offer ELL Classes in the mornings and evenings four days a week. The Children First Family Literacy program is a GED program in collaboration with NWTC and the Howe Community Resource Center, which provides GED instruction. Students in our Adult Tutoring program work one-on-one with volunteer tutors on goals that are specific to their needs (i.e. improving basic reading skills, speaking better English, studying for GED). We are always in need of Volunteers like you, to meet the needs of our students. For more information about how you can help, please contact us at info@literacygreenbay.org or at 920-435-2474.
