We are searching for talented and professional community outreach coordinators to assist in maintaining community outreach activities. You will represent NADPH and work with the Director of Community Outreach to develop and implement initiatives that increase NADPH’s visibility within surrounding communities.

You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and community-driven to take on this exciting role. These are nonpaid positions that require a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Maintaining a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
  • Help identify potential outreach and awareness opportunities.
  • Attend community events to represent NADPH and our programs as needed.
  • Engage community members.
  • Assist in preparing an annual budget for community outreach activities.
  • Nurturing new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
  • Scheduling regular outreach exhibitions in the community.
  • Overseeing a professional customer relationship management system.
  • Assisting in the organization of special events that may include volunteer appreciation events and other related fundraising initiatives.

Mission Statement

One of NADPH’s major objectives is to Bridge the Gap in access to advanced, precision-based healthcare in underserved and under-resourced communities, NADPH seeks to do this by providing access to information, subject matter experts, and technology that help community members: 1) raise their awareness and education about the array of factors impacting their quality of health and healthcare; 2) capture, manage, and understand their health information across its various domains, and 3) use this increased knowledge and access more actionably to make better decisions about their health and healthcare.

Description

. Our five focus areas to best accomplish these outcomes include:

  • Increase awareness and education in life science, clinical research and Precision Medicine in underrepresented communities
  • Increase participation of underrepresented populations in clinical research
  • Establish dedicated resources for health disparities scientific research (e.g. databases, biobanks, etc.)
  • Advance understanding of the biology of health disparities through scientific research
  • Train next generation of health scientists in underrepresented communities
