Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental and emotional strength and resilience of students and adults through education. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues.

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.

Our mission is to teach SEL at every school in the country. It is a tough challenge, but we know "No Challenge, No Change." Resilience offers internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement.

Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

The Director of the Curriculum Department (Selena Premium) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the development and implementation of SEL educational curricula. This position requires a strong educational background, leadership skills, and an understanding of curriculum design and instructional methodologies. The Director of the Curriculum Department plays a crucial role in shaping our educational programs and ensuring their alignment with our goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts, teachers, and instructional designers to develop and enhance curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
  • Curriculum Evaluation: Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of existing curriculum materials, identifying areas for improvement and making necessary revisions.
  • Instructional Design: Provide guidance and expertise in instructional design principles, ensuring that the curriculum materials incorporate effective teaching strategies, learning objectives, and assessment methods.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, such as teachers and administrators, to facilitate the successful implementation of curriculum materials, including the development of instructional plans, resources, and training programs.
  • Professional Development: Identify professional development needs for teachers and educational staff related to curriculum implementation, and design and deliver appropriate training sessions or workshops.
  • Assessment and Data Analysis: Develop and implement assessment tools and strategies to measure the effectiveness of the curriculum, analyze assessment data, and use it to inform curriculum improvement.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with teachers, administrators, and other departments to ensure the smooth implementation and integration of the curriculum across different grade levels or subject areas.
  • Research and Trends: Stay updated with the latest educational research, trends, and technological advancements, and incorporate innovative approaches into curriculum design and instructional practices.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Assist in budget planning and resource allocation for curriculum development projects, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures related to curriculum and instructional practices, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or a related educational leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design principles, educational standards, and assessment methods.
  • Familiarity with instructional technologies and their integration into curriculum design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of educational research, trends, and best practices.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Preferred: Start date within two weeks.
