Mentor 411:

Field of Flowers Bible Institute (hereinafter referred to as FOF) believes and is supported according to the Word of God that Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of discipleship. It is our pleasure to disciple and raise up women to be introduced to the Gospel . And in this way foster a relationship ultimately through the Word of God and Bible Study with the power of the Holy Spirit. John 17:20-23

Our non-profit Bible Institute looks to 2 Timothy 3:16 as a guide to both mentor and instruct these women in the Word of God to become ambassadors for Christ. Women across the U.S.A. are waiting for godly women to come alongside them with both encouragement and an outside resource to grow and change a lifestyle previously riddled with sin and despair. 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

It is FOF’s goal to help these women inside these facilities so that they will have strong biblical foundations as they look to the future whether released or remain but always hope. These mentors will facilitate Bible Studies and Letters of Encouragement covered in prayer via mail as a form of correspondence for each woman who has a deep desire to change the trajectory of her life. Colossians 3:12-17

Mentors review lessons, answer questions, pray and encourage her student(s) to grow in her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through time spent together via correspondence, student and mentor will hopefully form a sisterhood bond rooted in faith as testimonies and confessions are shared Hebrews 13 .

We offer Required Courses as well as Electives, Summer Reading Programs & Healing Electives. Courses are subject to change and will be added as the need arises. Students in good standing are offered life enrollment.

The Process:

FOF student completes Bible study lessons in course book sent from the Publisher. Student keeps the book. FOF office sends her a 1 page double-sided Mail-In Homework which is what mentor reviews and gently grades.

Mentor writes a Letter of Encouragement to student which is included with the 1 page Mail-In Homework. Often the letters written back and forth with each lesson are the student’s favorite part of the lesson because prayer requests are shared and often artwork and doodling is involved (for those artistic students and mentors!).

Because FOF is via mail, students continuously study God’s Word and stay in touch with their mentor upon transfer or reentry. In this way mentors fulfill the calling of Hebrews 13:3. Our founder fondly refers to this ministry as a "tea and pj’s"3 hours or so a month celebration in the comfort of your home. Simple, yet SO effective (It’s impossible not to sing during this special time with your student)!

Easy as 1, 2, 3:

1. Once the student is accepted, she mails Field of Flowers her homework and a letter to her mentor.

2. We mail this to the mentor with Field of Flower’s return address.

3. The mentor mails the student’s graded lesson and a letter with Field of Flowers return address on envelope.

Regarding 24-hour Action Required Communication Agreement: A student waits for a mentor's letter to arrive. Every day she waits for it is a big deal to her. For that reason we ask mentors to kindly reply to any "Action Required" communication with Field of Flowers office. Delays in communication may be because of technology and so we need to be intentional with replying as soon as possible so we do not keep our students waiting. Breaching this agreement after original completed signed and dated application is received in our office is a valid reason an applicant is considered ineligible to join our team. Once accepted as mentor a warning will be given. A second occurrence may result in volunteer termination. This agreement applies Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 2pm est. Holidays and vacation requests do not apply.

Mission Statement

Welcome to the one of its kind "religious studies and more" organization. Our mission is to encourage female inmates from Course 1 into reentry and beyond. Field of Flowers Bible Institute was founded in 2022 and focus on the female inmate regarding what matters to her most. Our non-profit Bible Institute looks to 2 Timothy 3:16 as a guide to both mentor and instruct these women to become ambassadors for Christ. Women across the U.S.A. are waiting for godly women to come alongside them with both encouragement and an outside resource to grow and change a lifestyle previously riddled with sin and despair. 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 What makes Field of Flowers Bible Institute unlike any other religious studies offered in the U.S. or abroad? We "go" where the female inmate "goes" via postage stamp (as advised with her permission to keep in touch).
