About us

At Habitat for Humanity, our ReStore departments play a vital role in supporting our mission to provide safe and affordable housing for all. ReStores are community-based retail outlets that sell new and gently used home improvement and building materials, furniture, appliances, and more. These items are generously donated by individuals, businesses, and contractors, and then resold to the public at a fraction of their original cost. By shopping at or donating to a Habitat ReStore, you're also contributing to a sustainable and socially responsible cause. The funds generated through ReStore sales directly support our housing projects, allowing us to build and repair homes for families in need.

Our one-of-a-kind Concord ReStore location is seeking skilled volunteers like you to elevate our displays and create stunning shopping experiences for our customers.

Opportunity

We're on the lookout for skilled individuals who can bring their prior experience as a merchandiser or interior designer to our team. Your creative and critical thinking skills, coupled with an eye for design trends, will play a crucial role in curating engaging and visually appealing displays. Whether it's crafting a welcoming living room setup or organizing a trendy showcase, your contribution will make a lasting impact.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive prior experience as a merchandiser or interior designer is highly valuable.
  • Creative flair and critical thinking to innovate and elevate our displays.
  • Awareness of design trends to keep our offerings fresh and appealing.
  • Ability to understand basic construction fundamentals for sturdy setups.
  • Collaborative spirit, open to feedback, and effective teamwork.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, climb, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Basic retail business acumen to enhance the customer experience.
  • Passion for our organization's mission of sustainability and community betterment.
  • Portfolio and Experience: While a portfolio of prior work is helpful, it's not a necessity. Your enthusiasm, skills, and commitment matter most. Your creative input and dedication to enhancing our displays are what truly count.
