About MAKE THE DISTINCTION

Location:

4640 E ROOSEVELT BLVD STE 3 # 1084, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19124, US

Mission Statement

To prepare girls between the ages of 13-18 with lifelong skills in the areas of personal and professional development, so that they can become leaders in their community.

Description

Make the Distinction (MTD) was founded in 2017 as a weekly mentoring program, pairing teen girls with mentors. Now, we have transitioned from direct mentorship to building our program initiatives based on serving the entire individual through developing the "self" and allowing teen girls the opportunity to develop skills that can be applied to all paths of life. Some paths include, college, entrepreneurship, military, employment, and trade school. Girls are able to register for our workshop series', which include topics surrounding Financial Literacy, Leadership Development, Health & Wellness, and Career Readiness.

We held our Inaugural Fundraising Gala in May 2023, which has increased program funds, brought on new supporters and organizations willing to partner with MTD. Since 2017, we have serviced approximately 250 girls in and outside of schools. Girls are able to learn in a supportive, interactive, and resourceful environment as we are continuously creating community and lasting impact in the Philadelphia area.
