Do you want to make a difference for our planet and get hands-on work experience at an international conservation NGO? Rainforest Partnership (RP) is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas, with team members in the US, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Europe. We conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature.

RP is looking for a skilled and creative Volunteer Graphic Designer to join our team and contribute to our mission through visual communication, having the opportunity to collaborate with our organization on various design projects. We are looking for individuals who can commit around 15-20 hours per week during periods of high project demand.

We will ask you to provide an online portfolio demonstrating your creative, design, and software skills following your initial submission for this position on VolunteerMatch.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create eye-catching and compelling visual materials that effectively convey our message and values, and bring the rainforest to life in inspiring, exciting, educational, and ambitious ways.
  • Assist in maintaining and evolving our brand identity through consistent use of design elements, colors, and typography across all materials.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively managing team feedback and incorporating changes into designs to create the finished collateral.
  • Deliver designs within agreed-upon timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and active team communication throughout the process.
  • Lead project-planning meetings during the design process with relevant team members to determine the schedule, layout, specifications, and final product.
  • Stay up-to-date on current graphic and digital design trends, including awareness on accessibility standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of graphic design and layout experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Canva experience is also appreciated, but not required.
  • Able to organize and manage multiple projects with numerous stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to format digital media files to meet the needs of your projects.
  • Punctual and deadline driven.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independent drive, collaborative nature.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and creative.
  • Positive attitude and humility.
  • Knowledge of Spanish language is appreciated but not required.
