The Longest Day campaign is a year-round DIY fundraising event where thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Longest Day Volunteer Committee helps to recruit new fundraisers, raise revenue, and coach individuals to success. This specific volunteer role is for the COMMUNITY OUTREACH TEAM.

○ The Community Outreach Team will:
■ Model mission fundraising by becoming a Solstice Champion by raising $1,600.
■ Assist in building and refining the Chapter new participant acquisition target list.
■ Make personal contact with potential and past participants to encourage early registration.
■ Help implement ways to build community awareness about The Longest Day and our mission.
■ Recruit businesses in the community and participants from affinity groups, clubs, and organizations.

○ Responsibilities:
■ Participate in Community Outreach Committee meetings.
■ Help strategize and implement the Participant Kickoff Party.
■ Recruit 3-5 new community teams including:
● Affinity groups
● Friends and family
● Organizations and clubs
● Faith-based
■ Attend 2-3 community networking opportunities, such as tabling at a 5K run to recruit runners.
■ Deliver promotional materials to local businesses and community hubs.
■ Work closely with your staff partner to ensure recruitment success.
