The Walk to End Alzheimer's - Dallas is a year-round fundraising event where thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Dallas Walk Committees helps to recruit new fundraisers, raise revenue, and coach individuals to success. This specific role is on either the Executive Leadership, Community Engagement or Event Experience committees.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership, networking, delegation and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable about the mission of the Alzheimer's Association and how the Dallas Walk fuels that mission.
- Understands the concept of Walk and is comfortable explaining the flexibility of the event.
- Willingness to become proficient in Dallas Walk tools and resources.
- Able to delegate responsibilities, goals and tasks to team members and to monitor their progress. Checks in regularly and offers assistance when needed.
- Ability to recognize team members' efforts and wins.
- Skilled at identifying and recruiting leaders, volunteers, companies, and activity groups who can drive fundraising for the Walk.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and refines the chapter top 10 target new prospect list.
- Meets and networks with key individuals within the community.
- Works with each team member to help them build a plan to recruit 3-5 new community teams from their network.
- Attends 2-3 community networking opportunities and works with each team member to uncover their own networking opportunities.
- Helps recruit and onboard new committee members.
- Develops and implements strategies to recruit new participants and re-register past participants.
- Hosts team meetings to discuss progress and to ensure all members are on target to meet their goals.
- Delegates responsibilities, goals and tasks to members and monitors their progress. Checks in regularly and offers assistance when needed.
- Celebrates team member efforts and wins on an ongoing basis and ensure that appropriate recognition efforts take place after the Dallas Walk.
