The hospice volunteer performs a variety of tasks which may include the following:

  • Administrative support such as preparing & mailing materials, assisting with organizing & staffing agency events and activities, answering agency phones and other duties as assigned.
  • Direct patient services such as assisting with errands such as grocery shopping & picking up supplies, transporting patients to appointments, shopping & social outings, providing support services which may include active listening, visiting, letter writing, reminding patients to take medications, feeding patients, sharing interests/hobbies, assisting family with housekeeping chores & homemaking tasks and providing relief to family and caregivers.
