Join our team and help provide essential groceries to homebound neighbors in our community! As a Home Delivery Packer Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that nutritious food is packed with care and accuracy for weekly deliveries.
Shifts Available:- Wednesdays:
- 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Shifts are 2 hours, and we ask for a commitment of at least 2-3 months.
Your Role:- Pack 100-125 food bags per shift, including special dietary bags for clients with restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, low-sodium, diabetic).
- Follow established packing guidelines to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with the Food Access Coordinator to address updates or dietary needs.
- Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.
- Interested in or familiar with dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Comfortable working on your feet and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable and available for consistent Wednesday shifts.
- Training on packing routines and dietary substitutions.
- Ongoing support from staff and volunteers to help you meet packing goals.
- A welcoming, collaborative environment.
- Directly impact the lives of homebound neighbors by ensuring they receive nutritious food.

In downtown Seattle, the Pike Market Senior Center strives to make each day better and safer for older adults; the Pike Market Food Bank serves people of all ages who face hunger. Together, we provide services, activities, and support that lead to more self sufficient and fulfilling lives.
Description
The Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank is located in the historic Pike Place Market. We have been serving our neighbors in the heart of Seattle since 1978.
The Senior Center serves people age 55 and up. Membership is free and there are no fees for meals, services or regular activities. While people from all walks of life are members of PMSC, we are pioneers in offering senior center programming to elders who are homeless.
The Food Bank serves people of any age, offering free groceries, ready-to-eat food for clients experiencing homelessness, and home delivery for qualified residents of Downtown Seattle. We serve 800 in-person grocery clients weekly and distribute over 300 grocery deliveries.
