The Developing Dreams Foundation (DDF) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the education and development of the performing and auditory arts with a specific focus on serving under-privileged and at-risk children in Broward and Dade County Florida.

We are seeking executive assistants to assist the Executive Director to achieve our mission and goals. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, mission-focused organization and make a lasting impact in the community. In this role you can help shape the organization and enjoy flexibility to evolve this position to achieve organization and personal goals.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Executive assistants serve a key public facing role. You will often be the first point of contact between DDF and the community. Our assistants are counted on to help manage critical activities to ensure we serve youth and deliver quality programs.

This is an unpaid volunteer role that can transition to a part-time or full-time paid position as the organization grows. There will be opportunities for you to network with influential members of the community, learn and grow, and other non-monetary benefits. We require a minimum time committment of 5 hours per week to start.

This role is primarily remote although our assistants may have the option to work from our Downtown Ft Lauderdale office locaton.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote DDF mission and goals
  • Coordinate Board monthly meetings by sending notice, distributing agenda, and recording minutes
  • Maintain DDF contact relationship management database
  • Create and distribute correspondence to DDF contacts as scheduled or needed (emails, newsletters, sponsor packages, etc)
  • Serve as telephone receptionist for inbound and outbound calls
  • Set and manage Executive Director schedule (appointments, meetings, and critical program due dates)
  • Research and help reserve venues for DDF events
  • General clerical work
  • Manage assigned special projects and regularly update Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience as adminstrative assistant or willingness to learn
  • Customer focused with friendly demeanor
  • Detail oriented
  • Well organized
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office
  • Self motivated and requiring minimal supervision

We achieve this through our classes, workshops, youth groups, and performances. Developing Dreams Foundation has been a liaison for local individuals as well as grass root organizations that share similar interest in developing youth to help build a stronger and more promising community.
