ORGANIZATION: PPSC'S Refugee Support Program

Inter-organizational Supervisor:

In light of the horrific war in the Ukraine, PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) mobilized to form the PPSC Refugee Support Project, a group of volunteers throughout the mental health and lay community, to provide crisis and support services to refugees, their families and service providers impacted by the war. Volunteers in the PPSC RSP fall into several categories: Licensed Clinicians/Therapists, Translators, Asylum Advocates and Administrative Volunteers.

Role description: PLEASE NOTE, THERE IS A STANDBY COMPONENT TO THIS POSITION FOR TIMES WHEN WE ARE AWAITING NEW OPPORTUNITIES WITH POTENTIAL PARTNERSHIPS

*You will be under the direct supervision of the Lead Project Coordinator who will support you every step of the way.

  • Will offer 1-2 hours/week (or as needed) to support with expanding our Project through inter-organizational partnerships & alliances
  • Attend initial meeting with Lead Project Coordinator and potential partner organizations, taking meeting minutes
  • Document mutual services being offered, individuals involved, contact persons
  • Update our directory and maintain communications with the organization as needed (example: if there is a new contact person assigned to our partnership, updating our records; sending our monthly newsletter and flyers of our in-house trainings to each organization's contact person)
  • Will take direction from Lead Project Coordinator and request guidance as needed

Specifics:

  • Basic understanding of Google Suite functionality, specifically sharing of google docs, sheets, newsletters, flyers, etc. as needed.
  • Ability to check emails daily, responding in a timely manner (24-72 hours)
  • Will utilize strategic planning and communication skills, referencing follow-up with Lead Project Coordinator if organizations have questions that you do not have the answer to
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with transparency of one's availability so as to ensure that we are properly supporting you (ex: providing you with an assistant, filling in if you take time off, etc).

Professional letters of reference/recommendation from PPSC can be requested by Volunteers and will be awarded to those who are engaged in the role which they have expressed interest in.
