Come serve in our 100% volunteer-staffed, grocery store food pantry! Create relationships with volunteers and guests while feeding our community in Northeast Philadelphia.
Volunteers arrive an hour before distribution begins, in order to begin team formation, restock shelves, and assign volunteer roles. Serving at Feast of Justice is different every single week, as distribution shifts are fast-paced/customer service oriented and require adaptability. Volunteer roles vary from checking in guests into our computer, greeting guests, restocking fresh produce, packing online orders, bagging groceries, and more. There are also leadership roles available.
Deliveries of food come from local grocery stores. We need additional volunteers to help us receive those deliveries, sort the produce, and restock the shelves.
Guests from our community shop according to family size, selecting from fresh produce, meat, dairy, grab n' go items, dry goods, and bakery/pastries. We are currently serving around 500 families a week and distributing over 19,000 lbs each week.
In order to keep our doors open to the public, we require about 400 hours of volunteer service donated every week. Come make a difference by serving in our choice market.

Description
Feast of Justice is a non-profit Choice Market food pantry in Northeast Philadelphia. Our food pantry is set up like a grocery store, and 100% volunteer staffed. Our guests shop for their food based on family size, and we serve about 500 families each week through "distribution" in our indoor Choice Market. For many families, visiting a food pantry can be embarrassing. At Feast of Justice we seek to dignify and empower our guests through their shopping experience-- creating a safe community for all.
