Are you interested in becoming a change agent and getting more involved in the San Antonio, TX and surrounding communities? Yes 2 You 501c3 nonprofit organization is looking to fill the treasurer role on our board of directors. This is an opportunity for anyone with a passion for giving back to the youth in the community and and/or supporting educational programs.

We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. Board of Directors members play a critical role in maintaining the health of the nonprofit organization by providing input, making connections with other organizations, and ensuring we are operating in a manner that is legal, ethical, aligned with the organization's goals, and financially sustainable.

Anyone aligned with our mission and values is welcome to apply. No previous board experience is needed.

Position Responsibilities:
1. Board Treasurer - Performs general board member duties; informs and guides accounting/finance/fiscal duties of the board; non-profit experience preferred but not required.

  • Oversee the financial management of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Finance Committee to develop and monitor the annual budget and financial policies.
  • Provide regular financial updates to the Board of Directors and ensure transparency in financial matters.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Board and external auditors, ensuring the completion of annual audits and reviews.
  • Collaborate with other board members and staff to develop and implement strategies for financial sustainability and growth

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in financial management, accounting, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit finance, including budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

We do this by combining instructor-led classes and hands-on learning activities with community-centered partnerships, and interactive STEAM learning all while identifying and potentially eliminating barriers.

There is a huge demand for quality educational programs for children and young adults. Yes 2 You increases the number of STEAM inspired programs available to children who are less fortunate in communities all over San Antonio and the surrounding counties.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 25
  • A minimum of 4 hours a month: 2 hours for monthly board meetings (virtual or in-person), and 2 hours for sub-committees and tasks necessary for fulfilling board duties.
  • We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with non-profit experience in accounting and finances, managing board agendas and documentation, legal skills, and networking.
