The American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming is looking for volunteers who want to build on their skills by volunteering with our Fund Development team! We have in-person positions available, please see below! We cannot wait to meet you!

• Gain professional fundraising experience with a well-recognized and respected international organization
• Develop donor communications skills
• Play a significant role in helping the American Red Cross carry out its mission of helping individuals and families prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies

Fund Development Event Volunteer: (need 5 additional in Mile High-Denver) This position supports the Regional Development/Fundraising department. Assist the Development team with fundraising event execution. (In-person- During work week only!)

• Assist with the planning of Red Cross special events.

• Assist with set-up and take-down day of event.

• During the event, provide support as needed including registering guests, auction support, and assisting with media/AV needs.

• Work with staff to ensure that sponsors are actively cultivated.

• Staff information tables at various events, and serve as the Red Cross representative.

Fund Development Stewardship Volunteer - (need 8 additional in Mile High-Denver) This position supports the Regional Development/Fundraising department. Assist with thanking our donors through acknowledgement letters, thank you phone calls, and other stewardship materials. Can be done remotely

• Support stewardship efforts by conducting donor thank you calls for unmanaged donors and sending handwritten, personalized communication.
• Utilize RC View to create map of Red Cross impact within a donor’s community.
• Prepare PowerPoint deck presentations for corporate donors.
• Assist with writing personalized thank you letters and cards for managed donors under direction of Relationship Manager.
• Help track benefits for donors by creating a benefits matrix/tracker.
• Sound the Alarm benefit execution
• R365 members benefit execution
• Giving Society recognition benefit execution
• Brainstorm and design creative thank you touchpoints, including donor gifts.
• Populate recognition certificates and plaques for donors, third-party fundraising events, or in-kind donors.
• Attend donor visits to talk about mission moment.

Fund Development Administration Volunteer: (3 additional needed in Denver) This position supports the Regional Development/Fundraising department. Assist with research and administrative projects that help fulfill fundraising needs and annual fundraising goal.

• Research potential donors including company's key contacts, charitable giving history, community involvement, areas of giving and contact information.
• Identify relationships between prospects and potential board connections.
• Assist with gift processing, including daily gift log, bundling, and mailing gifts to processing center.
• Provide information to Fundraiser or Stewardship Volunteer for follow-up.
• Prepare PowerPoint deck presentations for corporate donors.
• Print and send outgoing donor communications, such as event mailings (invitations), disaster solicitation mailings during national disaster, donor mailings for end-of-year solicitation, and postcards to steward donors (examples include postcards for Turn and Test, for Thanksgiving, or holiday postcards)
• Provide general office assistance as related to development, including photocopying, as well as assisting with projects and other duties as assigned.
