One World One Love is a nonprofit that welcomes refugees to central NJ with material, educational and employment support. Our Empower program seeks volunteers to provide ESL tutoring and job-coaching to newcomers. Volunteers work 1-1 with a refugee newcomer on their most pressing needs: to practice English, write a resume, apply for jobs, research job training programs and more. We especially need bilingual volunteers to support our friends who speak Spanish, Arabic, Swahili and other languages, but everyone is welcome! The more volunteers we have, the more people we can help. The time commitment is flexible based on your availability.

Mission Statement

One World One Love, NJ (1W1L) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of ordinary citizens working together to welcome refugees and asylum seekers fleeing war, trauma or persecution abroad. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to raise their children and build their future in a safe, supportive environment.

Description

Founded in 2016, One World One Love welcomes refugees and asylum seekers to central NJ with material, educational, and employment support. We work closely with resettlement agencies such as the International Rescue Committee to support newly-arrived refugee families in myriad ways - from setting up fully-furnished homes to community orientation, ESL tutoring to job-search coaching. Last year, we served over 500 individuals across our many programs, all because of the dedication and efforts of our volunteers.
