ORGANIZATION: Family Lifeline

Objective: Through weekly in-person visits and/or other contact, the goal is to alleviate isolation and loneliness among older adults and people with disabilities. Visiting Volunteers offer companionship as well as outreach. They also promote self-advocacy by assisting these people in maintaining their independence.

This unique one-on-one volunteer experience gives you the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with someone in our community! Become a volunteer and help build social support among older adults and persons with disabilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • must be 18, or 15 or older to volunteer with a parent
  • minimum 1-year commitment of weekly visits or as determined by you and your friend
  • submission of application materials
  • passing a background check
  • attending volunteer training
