Recruiting Organization: Cooperar Perú

We are a local organization that manages its own projects in the city of Cusco-Peru, creating educational spaces for children in marginal areas and villages. We have a methodology similar to montesori where children learn through experience and the integral development of the child as a human person. We work from Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm and during the morning we organize and prepare the educational activities, you also have the possibility to have Spanish classes with native teachers to develop the project. Our main objective is to personalize education, so every day the children develop school activities to reinforce their skills in different school subjects such as math, communication, English, French, art. We also have a specialized library where children can do their school homework and can borrow books and take them home.

Methodology and structure:

Our organization has 6 moments

1.- Time to wash your hands.

2.- Time to do their school homework or homework of the organization CooperarPerú: Each child has a control notebook where all the homework that our organization and volunteers prepare for the children is registered (Monday=mathematics) (Tuesday=language and communication) (Wednesday=English) (Thursday=French) (Friday=art).

3.- Time to play: it is important that the children develop in a suitable environment and socialize (It is also a way to learn).

4.-Moment of listening: At this moment the volunteers have 1 hour to develop the activity that is carried out to the theme of the week.

5 .- Moment of communication circle, in this space the children and volunteers make a circle and choose a topic of conversation, in this space it is important that children can express and recognize their emotions.

6.- Time to eat: One or two volunteers per day are in charge of making food for the children and it is during this time that the children can eat a healthy diet, especially to fight against anemia.

Twice a month we go on excursions outside the community and go to the swimming pool, rock climbing, museums, amusement park.

We are looking for volunteers who want to share their time with school children from 4 years old to 15 years old. We have about 50 children in the project.
