Summary
Rock Run Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer 501c3 charitable organization. We are a sanctuary for elderly and/or infirm horses who live the rest of their days here with dignity and love. Here, they are safe...for LIFE!
The Administrative Assistant position requires an individual dedicated to Rock Run’s values, mission, goals, and programs. Prior knowledge regarding non-profit charitable rules and regulations is helpful, or be willing to learn. Our Administrative Assistant is an important, valued member of our team.
This position requires most of the ~10-15 hours a week to be onsite; some may be from home.
Responsibilities
- Schedule Zoom meetings and emailing participants
- Attend monthly BOD meetings
- Maintain data on all current volunteers
- Create thank you letters and emails for our donors (our customers)
- Data entry for donors
- Maintain Volunteer and Donation program data
- Communicate effectively and professionally with donors, volunteer staff, department coordinators, outside vendors, BOD, and members of our community
Skills
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Google docs and sheets
- Willingness to learn Canva
- Exceptional writing skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Be organized and timely

Our mission is to care for animals in need by providing a supportive environment that encourages physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. In caring for our animals, we utilize holistic healing modalities in conjunction with contemporary veterinary care.
Description
Rock Run incorporated in 2012 to help animals in need. Rock Run Animal Rescue's animal services have been refined over the past decade to become primarily a sanctuary for horses. There is substantial need for elderly, retired, and/or infirm horses to have an opportunity to live out the rest of their natural lives, including many horses in our area.
We offer holistic care, specialized diets, medicine, choices, friendship of a herd, and lots of love. The horse's lives are in no less valuable as a result of not being able to be ridden, having physical ailments, or needing a home. While they have already served humanity throughout their lives, they continue to do so by offering people unconditional support, understanding, healing, learning, and growth.
Several of the horses at Rock Run participate in our program, Kintsugi Equine Gestalt Coaching. Together, the coach and horse, assist people with navigating through difficult emotional periods in life. Horses are natural healers, and are making a difference!
