Evergreen Forum is a collection of highly sought-after college level courses taught by retired college and university professors. This program takes place in the Fall, and sign ups are currently being held NOW. Keep an eye out for additional volunteer opportunities for our Spring 2025 semester. Sign ups begin in January 2025.

The Technical Assistant (TA) volunteer position provides virtual support for our Evergreen Forum instructors. The position requires a level of comfort with Zoom technology, though thorough training is provided. Some responsibilities may include:

  • Opening the zoom meeting and starting the meeting
  • Managing the waitroom/participants/chat during a zoom meeting
  • Sharing presentations/audio for an instructor
  • Recording zoom meetings, enabling transcripts, and running other zoom management tools

Courses are held once a week, Monday-Friday from either 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm. You would be assigned one class for the whole semester. Additionally:

  • Most courses run 6-8 weeks
  • Most courses begin the week of September 30th
  • Courses are 2 hours in duration
  • Each TA and instructor will begin working together the week before classes start
  • Thorough training and support will be provided by PSRC’s Tech Team and is required for any new TAs to Evergreen Forum.
