Basic volunteer duties involved with this assignment:
- Assist customers with donations, book selections, and promote Project LEARN's mission
- Operate the cash register, handle cash and card transactions accurately, and maintain a tidy and organized checkout area.
- Help with restocking shelves, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring books are appropriately priced and labeled.

Volunteers must display a passion for education and literacy, provide excellent customer service, and highly reliable.

The Bookstores serve as the financial vehicle to allow us to provide exceptional educational services.
What specific skills will the volunteer need?
Able to alphabetize books, differential between fiction and non-fiction, able to lift several books at a time, able to shelve books and communicate with customers.

Description
VANTAGE Aging promotes positive aging through a variety of programs and services for older adults. Our nonprofit organization serves 38 counties and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. In Summit and Medina Counties, we facilitate the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for those 55 and older who want to make a meaningful impact in the community. We also offer employment training, home care and home health aide assistance, nutrition and home-delivered meal services, alcohol and drug addiction counseling, and mental health and prevention services.
