The Shelter Volunteer provides a positive presence to assist with the general needs of the shelter in order to provide a warm, comfortable and safe community living environment for families. Mission Statement
The mission of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center (DVSA) is to protect victims, prevent violence, and empower survivors. We accomplish our mission by providing free services, resources and assistance necessary to effectively deal with the personal (physical, mental and emotional), social, and legal implications of domestic and sexual violence.
Description
We provide 24 hour access to all services through crisis lines. Services provided include emergency safe shelter, court advocacy (orders of protection), sexual assault advocacy and sexual assault forensic exams, counseling, bilingual services, and follow up.
