Weekend Companion- Vitality Hospice Respite Volunteer

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Vitality Hospice and Palliative Care

  • 1 person is interested

This volunteer position would provide respite for a caregiver so they can have time to care for themselves. Often times, caregivers dedicate every minute to their loved one on hospice. By having a volunteer sit with their loved one, they are given time to step away, go to a doctors appointment, run to the grocery store, or just get some fresh air.

Weekends would be the preferred time to sit with this patient at their home, though either Tuesday or Thursdays would also work if that works best for the volunteers schedule. It would be an hour- two hours each week (or every other week) to sit at this patients home while the primary caregiver can feel comfortable stepping away.

We aim to work with our volunteers schedule, so please don't hesitate to apply for this position if the above stated time doesn't work. We can always work together to create a schedule that works for you and the family.

As a volunteer with our organization, you would be an integral part of our team and build unforgettable relationships with patients and caregivers. We strive to bring joy and life into the lives of those with advanced illness. Whatever your interests or skillset, we are in need of your help and look forward to welcoming you to our hospice family.
