Hello, and thanks for volunteering with Washington Youth Soccer! We greatly appreciate your help. Below, you can find additional information regarding the duties and specifics of volunteering with us at our EPD Tryouts. As a volunteer, you will be assisting us with check-in for EPD Tryouts.

Volunteer Roles

Penny Assignor:

- Organizing pennies by number.

- Handing out pennies to players.

- Assist Team Genius registrars with assigning penny numbers to player profiles.

- Distributing penny collection bins to fields (before players arrive).

- Retrieving penny collection bins from fields (after 1st session - around 11:00 AM).

Photo Manager:

- Assist players with taking and uploading satisfactory photos to Team Genius profiles.

- Ensure the line for photos stays manageable.

- Direct players back to Team Genius registrars once photos are uploaded.

Sports Connect Registrar:

- Assist walk-up players with creating Sports Connect profiles (on laptop).

- Assist players with registering for EPD tryout sessions and completing payment.

Team Genius Registrar:

- Create player profiles within Team Genius.

- Assist with uploading photos to player profiles (communicate with photo manager).

- Assign players to the correct assessments (age groups) for tryouts.

Foot Traffic Director:

- Screen players for registration status.

- Guide players into correct lines.

- Ensure that the registration area does not become too congested.

- Manage incoming players when lines extend.

As stated in the recruiting email, please plan on arriving by 7:30 AM at the latest so that we can get oriented before players begin arriving for tryouts. This will ensure that we can get everything running smoothly and handle the flow of players as they arrive!

Tryouts officially end at 1:00 PM, but check-in duties for the second session should end before then. Cleanup and teardown should be completed by around 12:00 PM, although this time is subject to change - we may end a little earlier or a little later.

Thank you for volunteering - we deeply appreciate the support that we get from our volunteers! Events like this would not be possible without the extra help that volunteers provide. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact Thomas Kismarton at ThomasK@washingtonyouthsoccer.org
