Organization Overview:

Greenstand is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Alaska, United States. Our focus is alleviating poverty and combatting climate change through technology. Greenstand helps rural farmers earn income by planting and tracking trees, which are turned into Impact Tokens for trading in the Treetracker app. Treetracker by Greenstand is an open-source application that verifies tree planting initiatives, making reforestation efforts transparent and accountable.

Volunteer Description:

Greenstand seeks a passionate developer to help with the overall management of the Admin Panel team. Contribute your skills to develop and implement an open-source project to help Greenstand achieve its mission. This role is ideal for experienced frontend developers able to write and review code, comprehend technical jargon, simplify complex ideas, and relate to people from all backgrounds and skill levels. This 12-month project is perfect for professionals who work independently, as part of cross-functional teams, and are passionate about contributing to a purpose-driven mission. Scope:

• Manage the frontend development process from start to finish.
• Maintain development standards that ensure the quality and consistency of frontend code.
• Write and review frontend code for all aspects of frontend development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

We are also seeking volunteers with experience in the following:

• React and React Native
• Node.js
• Javascript

• Slack
  

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in software development, computer science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in frontend development.
• Frontend development certification.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Available for 15 hours/week and weekend status updates.
