Organization Overview:

Greenstand is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Alaska, United States. Our focus is alleviating poverty and combatting climate change through technology. Greenstand helps rural farmers earn income by planting and tracking trees, which are turned into Impact Tokens for trading in the Treetracker app. Treetracker by Greenstand is an open-source application that verifies tree planting initiatives, making reforestation efforts transparent and accountable.

Volunteer Description:

Greenstand is a dynamic community of 2,000+ self-motivated volunteers, change-makers, and globally distributed teams. We seek an HR Lead to help with the overall management of the HR department. This is the ideal role for an operations manager looking to gain more experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, recruiting new volunteers, and managing volunteer relations. A strong understanding of HR law and regulations and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Contribute to a worthy cause throughout a 12-month project. Scope:

• Develop and implement recruitment strategies
• Develop and implement onboarding programs
• Develop and deliver training programs
• Develop and implement performance management systems

We are also seeking volunteers with experience in the following skills:

• Interpersonal
• Self-driven
• Problem-Solving
• Thoughtful
• Reliable
• Basic Computer Skills
• Google Workspace
• Slack
  

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in human resources, operations management, or related field.
• Certification in human resource management or volunteerism is plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of the US Department of Labor and SHRM Frameworks.
• Ability to communicate thoughtfully and effectively with a globally distributed team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality while only sharing relevant details with appropriate channels
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Available for 15 hours/week and weekend status updates.
