We are looking for volunteers to assist in engaging local seniors through our sensory engagement program.

Volunteers visit different senior living communities and activity centers around the Bay Area and engage with seniors using the sensory engagement activities provided by Connected Horse.

Current opportunities:

We need dedicated volunteers to visit Livermore on Monday afternoons, 2pm - 3:30pm.

We also need Pleasanton volunteers on Tuesday mornings, 10:30am-12pm.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help people affected by dementia or memory loss and their care partners using an equine-guided workshop approach.

Description

Based on research conducted at Stanford University and UC Davis, Connected
Horse was established in 2015 to help people affected by dementia and their care partner through facilitated in-person workshops with horses. Because memory loss often affects primary relationships, the programs focus on strengthening connections, resulting in a greater sense of closeness.
