If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here. Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. From providing companionship at a patients bedside to running errands, and from assisting with administrative duties to creating gifts for patients and their families, our volunteer manager will help you discover the best fit for you.

Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. All hospice volunteers are given assignments that best suit their time, skills, and interests. We support our volunteers and appreciate the important rolls they play in hospice care. We prepare volunteers with specific training including:

-The hospice philosophy and end-of-life care

-Grief and bereavement education

-Emotional and spiritual support in hospice care

-Communication and stress management

-Patient privacy and other regulations

About Gentiva Hospice Atlanta North

Location:

1303 High Tower Trail, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30350, US

Mission Statement

To improve quality of life for those we serve through the delivery of clinical excellence, extraordinary service and compassionate care, while being recognized as the leader in home health and hospice services.

Description

We are looking for dedicated and caring people to spend time with our patients that are facing the end of life. Just a smile and a simple touch of the hand can mean everything to a lonely patient that has been sick for a while and unable to get out.

Being a volunteer at Gentiva can be a satisfying and rewarding experience. Volunteers can help a patient that is terminally ill make the very best of the time he or she has left through companionship and socialization. Volunteers can also provide caregiver relief to the families. Your time and talent can make a tremendous impact on the patient and their family.

If you are a veteran we offer veteran-to-veteran opportunities and participate in the national We Honor Veterans program.

We are also interested in volunteers for Pet therapy, Music therapy and Administrative duties.

* Minimum age requirement for Volunteers visiting with patients is 18 or older.
* Minimum age requirement for Volunteers in office is 16 or older.
