At Faith Presbyterian Hospice, we are dedicated to making each moment matter for the patients and families we serve. The needs of those we serve go beyond medical care alone. Faith Presbyterian Hospice relies on the talents and dedication of volunteers, like you, to provide and enhance our unique programs and services. A Patient Companion Volunteer offers socialization and companionship to a Faith Presbyterian Hospice patient. Patients are located in their own homes or facilities throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Each volunteer is thoroughly trainied before any patient assignment. The only requirement is that you must have a heart to serve and a desire to help make each moment matter for our patients and their families.
As a Companion volunteer, you would be matched up with a patient who lives in the area you prefer to serve in. Your visits will provide companionship and socialization to increase the patient's quality of life, as well as provide a little time of respite relief for the patient's family/caregiver if needed. Visit frequency would be AT LEAST once per week. We understand that most people, retired or not, have a busy schedule, so the days and times you visit is flexible, based on your availability.
