For Paediatric Health we work with: 2 centres in Cochabamba (the paediatric hospital "Albina Patiño" and the health centre "Niño Sano") focused on primary level care of common paediatric diseases and health promotion; a centre in El Alto, La Paz, reference for the area of children malnutrition; and in Potosí, with an integral centre for children where are promoted pedagogical activities as well as primary health care and health promotion for children and their families.
Main goal of the volunteering mission would be to be integrated as a member of the team for regular activities of the centres.
More specifically activities of:
1. Primary health care of common early childhood diseases (e.g. acute respiratory diseases and acute diarrheal infections, or according to the medical specialization of the professional).
2. Care of hospitalized children in administration of medications, feeding, intensive therapy, emergencies, surgery, control of outpatient treatments, nebulizations, hydrations, etc.
3. Activities health promotion and prevention with children and families of the neighbourhoods (e.g. about basic practices of health / hygiene / personal and children care, malnutrition etc.).
4. Training of national staff on innovative medical practices.
The sites of the mission will be Cochabamba ("Albina Patiño" Hospital and Niño Sano) and El Alto (CNI), Potosí (Proyecto Encuentros), . Foundation could ask the international volunteer to do short visits to other projects.

The Patiño Foundation, created in 1931 in Bolivia, has been helping Bolivian generations developing programs in the fields of Education and Culture, Pediatric Health and Agroecology, for the individual and collective development of the Bolivian population, with the goals to facilitate Bolivians' construction of a better life.
Description
The Patiño Foundation wants to be pionee in our 3 main field operations (Paediatric health, Agroecology, Education) in which we develop models and good practices that can be reproduced. The Foundation aspires to make available to Bolivians the best international resources, thanks to its International Volunteer program.
The Foundation develops the activities with projects in the following spaces:
3 paediatric health centres, focused on primary care, children malnutrition, and monitoring of children with mild illnesses.
4 Centres dedicated to education and cultural activities, with a focus on children between 6 and 17 years of age, and training of primary and secondary school teachers.
2 farms dedicated to sustainable and organic agriculture, research, production of dairy products and the share of knowledge with local producers.
2 historical museums with free visits and artistic-educational workshops.
6 popular libraries, 2 main libraries and a space to promote children's reading.
2 ecotourist parks aiming to preserve the natural ecosystem of differente Bolivian regions.
