Spring will be here soon, and flowers and plants will soon "spring up" from the ground! You can spend one or more days this April and May helping the gardens at the Cleveland Botanical Garden recover from winter and be ready for all the flowers to come. Volunteers will help rake, remove plant debris, dig up tulips, plant annuals, or additional garden tasks. No previous gardening experience is needed, as training and tools will be provided. Volunteers should be comfortable with physical activity such as raking, digging, bending, and kneeling. Volunteers must wear appropriate attire for the weather (closed-toe shoes required) and be able to get dirty. You should bring water bottles, snacks (if needed), and gardening gloves. This activity is weather dependent and would be cancelled if there is heavy rain.
Shifts are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 9am-11:30am or 12:30pm-3pm during April, and Monday-Friday, 9am-11:30am or 12:30pm-3pm in May. Following your shift, volunteers can explore the Botanical Garden free of charge. Parking is validated for the day for volunteers in our parking garage.
