We are a grassroots non-profit known as Make GVL Greener. We are focused on creating green, inclusive urban eco-systems (aka communities) through public engagement, education and partnerships with local businesses and gov't.
We host in-person service days that include Garbage Gang litter-cleanups, community garden assistance, and recycling assistance. We have some infrastructure projects kicking off including a green business directory and round table, green affordable housing and working with local organizations to create recycling infrastructure in the Upstate.
We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of hands-on and remote tasks such as the following:
Newsletter creation
Volunteer engagement and event coordination
Grant writing assistance
Our long-term goal is to create an inclusive organization that is well-funded so that we can have paid employees with benefits who are paid fairly while creating a planet that puts people over profits.

Mission Statement
Make GVL Greener is a grassroots 501c3 organization focused on creating sustainable, green urban communities (we call them ecosystems) which address environmental impacts and climate equality challenges.
Description
We do this through active citizen involvement, sustainable business development, government and private partnerships and environmental education. We realize that the most effective solution to our climate and social challenges include community building and engagement through targeted education and sustainability assistance to local businesses and organizations. This helps encourage responsible, green community and business growth including much needed infrastructure. The most inclusive outcomes are from voluntary growth and not forced regulation. Letting the urban ecosystem thrive for future generations.
