What if you needed help and there was no one there to assist you? Right now there are people in your area that need help making basic life decisions. As a Volunteer Guardian you can make a world of difference to your neighbor in need.

A guardian is someone who has been appointed by the court to make decisions and take actions for another person who is not able to make decisions for themselves. A guardian is not a caregiver but makes arrangements to ensure the person receives the proper level and type of care, soliciting as much input from the person as possible.

"Bonnie" is an active woman in her early 50’s and lives in a supportive community setting for individuals with behavioral health issues. She is in need a new guardian that will work with her on meeting her goals related to housing, finances, mental/physical wellbeing, and various other things, while including her in the decision-making process. She values religion and enjoys reading/learning, her boyfriend, and Marvel superheroes, and she will energetically talk about things that matter to her! The ideal volunteer guardian will help to maximize her autonomy and have sufficient time and patience, especially in the beginning, to develop a positive rapport with Bonnie and learn her strengths, as well as areas where she is need of more support.
